It was a really long overseas business development journey of our CTO, the earlier stages of which we wrote about in our article Business development and networking in the US vol. 1 and vol 2.
Our current post is about the further colorful programs in which Karesz participated.
Informal discussion about what’s new in Generative AI and NLP
Our CTO participated in an informal meeting organized by the Charlotte Bots and AI Meetup community, where representatives and professionals from both smaller and larger companies appeared.
The meetup’s programmes were the followings:
- discussing about AI, NLP, Generative AI and ML
- presentations / stay up to date with tooling and upcoming innovations
- learn, share or hack through NLP and AI solutions
- meeting with local AI, NLP and ML practitioners
During the event futher topics were discussed as large language models (LLMs)and their applications (participants also talked in chatbots, among other things), as well as solutions based on artificial intelligence, such as ChatGPT developed by OpenAI, and their integration. It also turned out that within a very short time after these solutions appeared, many IT companies boldly started experimenting with how they could make their software products even more advanced by the abovementioned novelties.
Getting insight into the world of nonprofits
Social engagement also plays an important role in the life of our company, so it was a promising opoortunity to get insight into the daily life and the operation of an overseas nonprofit. Lions Services, as a company specialized employing blind and partially sighted people, uses specially modified machines, devices and equipments to manufacture various tools that require sewing.
The Development Director, Agatha Bisbikis spoke about the mission of their organization and showed the manufacturing plant and the product sortiment, which are mainly made for the army.
Networking with local developers and IT professionals
Charlotte Java User Group organized the meetup in the southend district where the OpenTelemetry solution was showcased.
The speaker Developer Advocate, Nicolas Fränkel has 15+ years experience consulting for many different customers, in a wide range of contexts (such as telecoms, banking, insurances, large retail and public sector). During the talk, he described the solution in more detail and presented a use case to demo how users could benefit from OpenTelemetry in their distributed architecture.
After the presentation, there was an opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with local software developers.
Networking in Europe
In the past period, we participated in many international events. These events were an excellent opportunity to build relationships and at the same time follow international trends. London Business Trip was a two-day networking forum and lecture series in May, the purpose of which was to facilitate the entry of Hungarian businesses into the UK market. Before that, we participated in the Lindholmen Software Development Day held in Gothenburg.
ChatGPT + Beyond
The event named ChatGPT + Beyond: Unmasking Potential Consequences of Advanced AI Models was organized by Kingsmen Software, an AI consultancy enterprise and was hosted by the company’s headquarters.
The opening lecture was about the current capabilities of AI solutions, expected trends, ethical questions and concerning potential dangerousness. The topics included, among others, how the market approaches to the use of artificial intelligence, how companies have gotten to this point, and what are the current and future threats with regard to AI. Gabe Mukobi, researcher of Stanford University, also joined to the discussion abpout the fascinating intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI), ChatGPT, and the future of AI.
After that, the CEO of Kingsmen spoke about the practical solutions of Generative AI that can be applied to real business challenges. After the presentations, there was an opportunity to get to know and discuss with the audience experts and local entrepreneurs interested in business applications.
Having something in common
Kingsmen is a software delivery studio trusted by some of the USA’s largest financial institutions and unicorn startups to deliver impactful, business enabling technology. Kingsmen also offers a number of solutions that can be used to achieve clearly defined business goals.
This is also a common point between our company and the host of the event, which made it definitely worth meeting them and participating at the event, since we also offer such solutions, including AI-powered TAS Enterprise Search engine from which our customers can get answers (and also insights) directly to their business questions.
Among other things, our CTO’s networking journey in the United States were filled with such colorful events. Our report to be continued soon. Keep track of further stages of our technology leader’s overseas program.
